Riesling
Rich + Mineral
Strong golden yellow colour. Charming nose of ripe pear and grapefruit at the beginning. Later on, a hint of vanilla and smoke are added. With a little air, tropical aromas such as ripe pineapple, mango and passion fruit appear. In the mouth, the tropical notes take the lead. The perfectly integrated aromas from wood carry the fruit without coming to the fore. The result is a complex but individual nuances that is eagerly awaited with every sip. Sometimes the exotic takes over, then some grapefruit comes again and the next time light notes of caramel and honey. Carried by a creamy acidity that does not dominate, but only sets accents and skilfully stages the minerality of its origin. When the wine reaches more maturation, aromas of dried fruit such as apricots appear - and the caramel aroma finds a perfect partner in the typical ripe notes of Riesling.
The Klüsserath Brotherhood where the grapes for this wine come from, is a south-facing steep slope. The grapes for the PUR come from its core land. The late harvested and concentrated berries are lightly bruised and left for a few hours. After the subsequent pressing, open sedimentation takes place. Part of the must is fermented in barrique barrels. All fermentation takes place spontaneously using wild yeasts. After the alcoholic fermentation, the malolactic fermentation begins (biological acid degradation). The wines remain on the fine yeast until late summer. Targeted blending creates the balance between the fruit aromas and the barrique aromas. The wines are sold after at least one year of aging in the bottle.
